Design and hand-carve a crystal capped gemstone — then experience the thrill of centrifugal casting.
In this explorative, beginner-friendly class, you’ll learn the fundamentals of lost wax casting while creating your very own customized crystal charm.
Date & time: Saturday/Sunday, June 6th and 7th from 12-5pm
Duration: 10 hours total instruction time (please eat lunch before you arrive!)
Class Size: 6 students maximum
Metal Included: Bronze
Silver Upgrade: Available at market rate
No prior jewelry experience required.
What You’ll Learn

Designing for the casting process (thickness, spacing, strength)

Choosing styles that carve and cast cleanly

Proper carving tool technique using tools like a micro motor, flex shaft, and wax pen

Preparing for casting
- Join in on the casting session and participate in turning your wax into metal. Full guidance casting your piece with the centrifuge

Metal finishing for professional results
Materials
All wax projects will be cast in solid bronze (included in tuition).
Students may upgrade to sterling silver for an additional fee based on current market pricing at the time of casting. Silver upgrade cost varies depending on the weight of your design and will be quoted to you before casting.
Gemstone crystal included, but feel free to bring your own (and understand that it may or may not be eligible for this project).

Assist with your casting with a hands on experience! The torch will literally and figuratively be passed as you hold the flame that melts the metal.
